Raj Lahoti

OnlineGURU Inc. got its start a few years after its founders, Raj Lahoti and his brother Ravi, discovered The Path to Onlightenment. It wasn't their first Web business but it quickly became their most successful.

In fact, the Lahotis didn't start California-based OnlineGURU until 2003-more than four years after the guys launched their best-known site, DMV.ORG-The Unofficial Guide to the DMV. It wasn't until they decided to transform this online, drivers' resource from a portal-style directory to a full-blown comprehensive guide to the DMV across 50 states that they saw the need to build a company of Web-minded Gurus.

As the vision for their site continued to grow, so did the family of Gurus. One at a time, the brothers expanded the company with individuals who shared their vision: to simplify the lives of the online community utilizing their experience in search, Web design and related technology.

4,000 pages and 65 million users later, DMV.ORG went on to become one of the Top Five automotive sites and one of the Top 300 Web sites in the United States-a ranking it still enjoys today. It's also the flagship site of OnlineGURU, and the model with which the company will build out many more relevant Web sites.
